Swedish massage technique is one of the most popular treatments for tension and chronic muscle pain.  It is performed with open hands and long movements. It is designed to target deep muscle tissue while also kneading tension out of your body, leaving you relaxed and with an overall sense of well being.

Deep tissue massage employs many of the techniques used during a swedish massage, but is designed to work the deeper connective tissue,  known as fascia. The pressure is more intense and usually recommended for chronic muscle pain. In general, deep tissue massage is used as part of a larger wellness program including exercise, posture control, and/or relaxation techniques. You may experience a certain amount of discomfort during the massage itself, but are also likely to find yourself feeling a higher sense of well being and endorphin rush once the massage is over.

Hot stone massage employs the use of round, smooth basalt stones which are heated to a luxurious temperature, oiled and used in the palms of the hands to massage the body.  This is deeply soothing and relaxing form of bodywork, which can increase detoxication, decrease stress, fatigue and relieve longstanding muscle tension.  A full body hot stone massage requires a 90-minute appointment.

I also give a mini reflexology session with each massage.  In the feet and hands there are pressure points that mirror your body.  I massage those points to relieve congestion that is trapped and force it to move along its normal path.  Leaving you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
